Since returning from London after presenting at the Royal British Society of Sculptors, Emma Hunter has been as busy as ever, developing her agricultural objects. With the help of Technical Assistant Uist, Emma has turned her attentions to the forge.

Settled into SSW’s communities room and had a very busy week, preparing for a group exhibition due to shown in 2015, check out their website for updates on the venue. Fanny Lam Christie will be returning to us in the future for some casting work.
Eden and his team have been busy moving Carl Giffneys referendum viewing platform for safe keeping during the winter months.
The viewing platform will be reconstructed this spring for SSW’s incubator event, as part of the ‘Frontiers in Retreat’ program.
Last week we welcomed students from Leeds College of Art, along with their tutor Sheila Giffney. The group have been under the guidance of head technician Eden Jolly at the SSW foundry.
They’ve been working day and night to get their moulds ready for the bronze pour.
With the help of the technician team, and two bronze pours in one day, Leeds were able to break open the moulds on friday morning.
