Its been food galore recently here at SSW! With the Natural Bennachie Potluck Dinner going down a treat at the end of July, SSW followed the event up with a second food-orientated evening – a Pasta Making Party! Hosting over 30 people between the SSW bothy and communities room was no easy task, but our Natural Bennachie residents Lorenzo Casali and Micol Roubini attentively supervised the intensive pasta making evening. After an arduous afternoon of mass dough making, the event began with a music workshop from Framed Against the Sky (for more information see their website). Lorenzo and Micol then effortlessly guided everyone through a pasta making venture. Using a unique wire cutter, made specially for the event in the SSW workshops, along with a robust pasta maker on loan for the evening, the dough was shaped into various pasta forms – spaghetti, tagliatelle, ravioli and delicate pasta parcels. The evening was a great success and enjoyed by all! Many thanks to Lorenzo and Micol for hosting a great event and making some very tasty pasta sauces..
