A short film by artist-curator Daniel Seiple following his collaboration with local woodworker Gavin Smith at SSW this summer as part of SSW’s curated programme Slow Prototypes.
The collaboration took place at Gavin’s home in Corgarth, Scotland, where the pair built the architectural installation from the ground-up, using only wood from Gavin’s resource stockpiles with help from SSW technical placement Kevin Andrew Morris. Writer Paul O’Neill worked alongside the collaborative duo providing a written-response to the project.
Slow Prototypes, a project curated by SSW with support from Creative Scotland’s Creative Futures programme, has been ongoing at SSW from August, hosting three collaborations between contemporary artists and artists-artisans, each followed closely by a writer.
