Beginning next spring 2013, SSW will be hosting an intensive workshop in 3D Working Sculpture Fabrication, led by SSW’s Senior Technician Eden Jolly and public artist and sculptor Darren Farhquar.
The course will provide an introduction to metal and wood fabrication, with an emphasis on the craft skills required to create small to medium scale sculptural work. Participants will be asked to bring drawings or maquettes of the art work they would like to work on during the week.
Basis materials are included in the workshop fee, for large scale or specific materials there may be a surcharge.
The course includes:
- Health and Safety instruction
- Demonstration of workshop equipment
- Common materials
Participants will need steel-toe capped footwear and long sleeved cotton clothing. Overalls are available onsite.
Spring Term (date tbc) – 8 sessions, 7 – 9pm
