SSW is offering winter residencies between the 3rd of December 2012 and the 28th of February 2013, to visual artists who are interested in broaching the themes of isolation and darkness.
Deadline Monday 3rd September 2012
Cost to residents: £130 per week, which will give artists 24-hour access to studio space for a period of research and development, and self-catering acomodation and communal facilities, including internet.
Please note that workshop facilities will be closed from December 2012 to February 2013, meaning the residency will be ideally suited to those with studio-based practices.
The residency will opperate around the themes of darkness and solitary remoteness that have connotations to the winter months. The artists may use the sparse winter landscape to draw inspiration on which to structure their work around over the duration of the residency.
Please apply in writing to Christine Muller at firstname.lastname@example.org, including a statement of interest, up to 6 images of recent work, and a CV detailing at least one referee. For further information call 01464 861372.
