Visit from Pluscarden Monks

Yesterday we were delighted to have a visit from three of the monks from the Benedictine monastery at Pluscarden Abbey near Elgin. After a traditional meal of mince and tatties prepared by Meryln Riggs and our director Nuno Sacramento, the monks were led around the workshops by our senior technician Eden Jolly who provided an insight to the various mould-making, metal-pouring, metal casting and wax-working processes that our foundry offers.

We hope to have them and others from Pluscarden Abbey back soon for some experimenting in the workshops!
